AnnaI got a set of watercolours for Christmas, but had always found an excuse to avoid getting started with them. Working with the Art for Wellbeing group offered the time and space to take some first tentative steps - I found myself particularly drawn to sunsets and sea scenes, as well as giving my first charcoal drawing a go (copied from a picture of my Nan when she was my age). It felt really meaningful to be alongside other people as we were creating, witnessing and experiencing all the feelings that the process inspires. From the challenging moments - doubt, fear, self-consciousness - to the really delightful ones, it was lovely to share in that with other people. |
